Hey Dude, don't take it so bad.
Take that C plus and make it better.
Remember to practice a helluva lot,
Then you can start to make it all better.

Hey Dudette, don't be afraid.
You'll get that A plus sooner or later.
The minute you try to write with that pen,
Then you can begin to make it all better.

And anytime you feel the pain, hey, stay sane!
Anything worth doing is hard - oh, what a boulder!
For well you know you shouldn't ever drool on the stool,
Don't let your mind go all splatter.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah,
Nah, nah, nah, nah!

Hey Dudette, don't let me down,
You found that A minus, so go ahead and celebrate later.
Remember to continue to practice a lot,
Then you can start to make it even better.

So let it out and let it in, hey D, begin,
You're waiting for the good grades to lead with.
But don't you know that it's up to you, only you to,
Get the marks for you to carry on your shoulder.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah,
Nah, nah, nah, nah! Yeah? Well... yeah!

Hey Dude, well wouldya look at that!
There's that B plus - it was bound to appear!
I told you! Practice, practice, practice, then you'll begin,
To make it better, better, better, better, better, better, Wow!

Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, Dudette! (Yeah! Yeah! Ya ya ya ya ya ya!)
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, it was you!
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, hey Dude! (Dude! Like dude! Wow! Ow ow ow ow!)
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, it was all you! (Oh my, my my!)
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, hey Dude! (Dude, dude, duty duty duty dude!)
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, it was you! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)
Nah, nah, nah, nahnahnahnah! Nahnahnahnah, Dudette! (Yeah, you knew you're gonna make it, Dudette, you're always gonna ace it!)

There was you, teacher - the meanest, the most incredibly horrid,
The strictest thorn I've ever had the displeasure of knowing.
Your scowl could crack a smile that dared to grin,
Sap the courage out of these brave set of lips.

What made you so intensely sharp, I wonder.
Your reputation proceeded you throughout these halls.
I'd heard stories of you and of course of the rumors.
They say, you had no sympathy - none whatsoever - none at all.

But you made us pay close attention.
You demanded that we cared.
You took none of our silly nonsense.
But you gave us what you would share.
Although I never appreciated the effort you made back in that little room,
I see now we are who we are because of what you did to help us overcome.

Then there was you, teacher - the loudest, the most petrifyingly deafening,
The scariest figure I'd ever had the misfortune of meeting.
Your quiet was like a calm before the storm,
An unerring expectation of a hurricane cyclone.

What made you so snarlingly stark, I wonder.
Your Cerberus eyes and your stare was quick to silence.
I'd make no contact lest the gorgon flash struck me frozen.
Stayed on the other side - out of the way - if I'd had some sense anyway.

But you made sure we paid fully with our attention.
Your demanded fee was our complete comprehension.
You parried our flying nonsense with your witty tongue.
We took delight in the high velocity intelligence ping-pong.
Though I was shockingly mortified to be caught off guard by you in that classroom,
I see now you cared a lot more about us than you would ever admit or even let on.

And then there was also you, teacher - the strangest, the most aloof and yet lucid,
The calmest easy-going character of commanding sagacity.
You never raised a decibel but you knew how to work a crowd,
How did that happen - I pondered - for we could be so very loud.

What made you so very peculiar, I wonder.
You didn't care what anyone thought, at least it seemed as if it was so.
You casually brushed aside our snide comments and our snickering about.
Kept right on topic and politely asked us to kick ourselves out.

But you captivated us with your interesting ways.
You didn't lift a finger - so to speak - to make us care.
Your engagement was better entertainment than the sordid distractions.
We eagerly wanted to know what you had to say, to be fair.
Though it was not always easy to be taught by you in those days,
I see now that our futures were your main concern.

And for these things and more, I think you're awesome.
Your devotion to our education is more than what anyone could have asked for.
Keep doing what you do, teachers.
Because this means a whole lot more than you could ever possibly know.

Well, we've got no choice but to find our voice,
To make a lot of noise, whether we're girls or boys,
Waiting for the school to be out fo-da-summa,
To get our soma, psyche-D fields fo-eva.

"Jiggly Nuts, I choose you!" Confused? So very confused.
Forgive us father, for we know not what it means.
Know not what it means. Know not what it means.
Do you know what it means? Do you know what I mean?
I'll tell you. It means, Yeah... Algae's in bloom.

We pledge our allegiance to the flag,
To the united colors of, hold on - what's the current fad?
Singing our unity songs, mouthing them along,
Skinner us Crabtree! Oh say, can you see?

"Debt is good! Gammas wear green!" Confused? So very confused.
Forgive us father, for we know not what it means.
Know not what it means. Know not what it means.
Do you know what it means? Do you know what I mean?
I'll tell you. It means, Yeah... Algae's in bloom.

Intermission! We interrupt this lyrical program to bring you an urgent message.
We declare a worldwide emergency - all intelligent life on planet Earth is now endangered.
We repeat! All intelligent life on planet Earth is now endangered.
We urge all remaining brain cells to activate and to reverse the current trend.
We call on all capable teachers to do what they can to stop the damage.
Together intelligent life can and will return to acceptable levels.
For the sake of the children (oh, won't somebody please think of the children), do what you can!
Thank you for your undivided and supportive attention.
We return you now to your pleasant lullaby program.

Got it bad, got it bad, got it bad,
Terrible grammar, Y U BN SO SUS TCHA?
Don't stand, don't stand so, don't stand so close to me!
We gon make mo mun-EE in a yEE-a, than you make in yo life, tEEE-cha!

"Make it rain, don't hate da playa!" Confused? So very confused.
Forgive us father, for we know not what it means.
Know not what it means. Know not what it means.
Do you know what it means? Do you know what I mean?
I'll tell you. It means, Yeah... Algae's in bloom.

O say, does that star spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Who dares to believe that two plus two equals four?
Blasphemy! Double plus ungood to be wrongly thinking so.

"But there are four bloody lights!" Confused? So very confused.
Forgive us father, for we know not what it means.
Know not what it means. Know not what it means.
Do you know what it means? Do you know what I mean?
I'll tell you. It means, Yeah... Mustard's in bloom.

So you think you know everything - that this is pointless - that this is a waste.
You're right. This is completely pointless if you choose to see it that way.
But have you asked yourself whether I know better, and that's why I'm your teacher?
Maybe you'll learn this one day but hopefully it won't be through the hard way.

When I tell you something, perhaps it's in your best interest to listen.
Do you think I tell you these things just so that I can hear my own words hasten?
You might want to perk up your ears and try to understand what I'm saying.
Do you understand what I'm telling you? Try taking a break from your playing.
Teacher knows best - Listen!

So you think this is boring - that if it's not fun, it's not worth doing.
You're right. This is very boring if you don't take any interest in it at all.
But have you asked yourself whether I know better, and that's why I'm your teacher?
Maybe one day you'll learn that what I'm teaching you is actually really captivating after all.

When I show you something, perhaps it's in your best interest to look closely.
Do you think I show you these things just so that I do it willy nilly?
You might want to consider that you don't know how to do it, so watch and learn before you try.
Do you understand what I'm telling you? Stop, because you're going to hurt yourself and cry.
Teacher knows best - Look!

So you think this is a joke - that this is a breeze and you can do it on your own.
You're right. This is easy (for now) and it's not worth spending your time on.
But have you asked yourself whether I know better, and that's why I'm your teacher?
Maybe you'll realize that this is a foundation for something much more difficult later on.

When I explain something to you, perhaps it's in your best interest to understand.
Do you think I provide a set of reasoning just so that I can hear myself talk grand?
You might want to check whether you have the background knowledge on why this is so important.
Do you understand what I'm telling you? Try to get off your high horse. I can't be any more blatant.
Teacher knows best - Understand!

So you think I don't know what I'm talking about - that I've nothing to teach you.
You're right. A closed mind leads to willful ignorance, a wise mind considers and opens.
But have you asked yourself whether I know better, and that's why I'm your teacher?
Maybe you'll find my ignorance and meager knowledge as the path to your liberation.

When I demonstrate something to you, maybe it's in your best interest to observe.
Do you think I do these things because I want your judgement of my skills?
You might want to consider that you don't have the experience, so you can't possibly do it right.
Do you understand what I'm telling you? Just stop it! This isn't a fight!
Teacher knows best - Wise up!

Think! Think again! That's twice you thought. Wow, doublethink!
Care to think once more? Does it make any sense? Let's see now. That's triplethink!
Triplethink is superior to doublethink. Anyone? Hello? *TinkTink*
Lost another one. Might as well give myself another courtesy blink.

Four hundred and fifty one degrees,
Prometheus cries his liver out to thee,
Ctrl+a the whole lot, smack those lips and press delete.
Are you sure you want to... Hey, mind packing that up for me?

Doggy bags are great on the farm,
Two bags are good, but four bags are even better,
Pigs don't fly, cats always lie,
Sheep never try, ducks all in a row slide.

Think! It's a muscle! If you don't use it, it turns to jello on the run!
Care to think deeply? Does your head hurt? When your muscles burn, your muscles learn!
Strong muscles keep one healthy. Anyone? Hello? *TinkTink*

Four hundred and fifty one degrees,
Prometheus cries his liver out to thee,
Ctrl+a the whole lot, smack those lips and press delete.
Are you sure you want to... Hey, mind zipping that up for me?

Can't beat Ludwig Van, Damme, he the man,
Spinning like clockwork, slooooowwww motion,
Back and to the left, play it again Sirhan,
Mock-Yeah! Ing-Yeah! Bird-Yeah! Yeah-Yeah!

Think! By George, I think she's getting it! The rain in Spain is quite plain by the way.
Care to take a rain check? It's very important to take rests. You know, all work and no play...
Makes one a dullard. Would you buy that for a dollar? Anyone? Hello? *TinkTink*

Four hundred and fifty one degrees,

Are you sure you want to... Hey, mind shipping that out for me?

Elois don't think, Morloks too much,
BBQ sauce works quite well on everyone,
McSoy is people, by the people, for the people,
Embrace the carousel, sandman! Off to nether neverland!

All in all, you're not just another brick in the wall. Not at all! Not to me, pudding.
I know you may feel that way but I guarantee you, you're not a nothing.
I believe you're capable of so much more, that there's much room to grow,
Therefore let me show you what's possible, let me teach you what I know.

You need an education and I'm here to give one to you.
It's the least I can do, this is what I can offer you,
I want you to have a future, something you can build your life on,
I want you to use me as a stepping stone, to get your big goals jump-started on.

No matter what, I'm not leaving you behind.
If at first you don't learn, I'm going to try, try, try.
Even if it means it'll take us weekends and nights.
You're going to learn, my grasshopper. You're going to learn to fly high!

All in all, you're not just another brick in the wall. Not at all! Not to me, pudding.
Even if those around you are eager for the mortar that is incoming,
Let them march ahead and snugly fit into the cast and mold,
Not everyone needs to fold and do blindly what they're told.

You need to channel your thoughts and I'm here to guide you.
It's a difficult path to take, this is what I can offer you,
I want you to be able to discern, to make decisions on your own terms,
I want you to have an active mind, to stand up, and to stick to your own principles.

No matter what, I'm not leaving you behind.
If at first you don't get it, I'm going to explain again why, why, why.
Even if you don't want to, weary from the barrage of the cerebral workout.
You're going to get it, my padawan. You're going to move beyond the pain and blast through the sky!

All in all, you're not just another brick in the wall. Not at all! Not to me, pudding.
This isn't a one way street, where you just passively take it all in.
Passing on knowledge is well and good, but you need to understand it to adapt,
You're not a tool to be used by anyone - you're a tool wielder - don't make me eat my hat!

You need to engage in this conversation and I'm here to listen.
I may not agree with what you say, this is what I can offer you,
Disagreements and debates lead to progress if we're humble and stay objective,
It's how we interact as adults, it's how we mature, it's how we must perceive.

No matter what, I'm not leaving you behind.
If at first you give me dark sarcasm, I'm not going to say bye, bye, bye.
Use that sharp tongue of yours and start making a meaningful contribution,
You're going to grow up, my smart aleck. You're going to be great, your time is nigh!

You know that knowledge destroys ignorance,
Ignorance shuns knowledge,
Try to teach, to shape the mind,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side, yeah...

When life gives you lemons, you attempt to make lemonades.
But without the correct ingredients, what do you hope to get?

O Captain! my Captain! we see that you're doing your very VERY best.
But you just don't understand what's going on in our heads.
In our families, in our homes, in our lives, what you see and what you don't see,
Pictures of future memories, endless boulevards of broken dreams.

We chased our geniuses here,
Sought our treasures where,
Blank stares take flight in silence,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side, yeah...

When life throws you apples, you ask how you like them apples.
But when goodwill turns to watch them fall, where do you hope to go from there on?

O Captain! my Captain! you keep saying that it's not our fault.
But it is, it has to be, how else could it possibly be so?
Subconscious currents swell, to drag the ships deep into the sunken depths,
Where monsters of the abyss take their victim prizes, savagely rending us in pitch darkness.

C'mon everybody! You know what's wrong with this picture!
Everybody - love your baby!
Everybody - love your baby!
You get high, they get high.
You get low, they get low.
Don't you lie, don't you dare slide.
Spend some time, instill some pride.

I found a diamond in the rough,
Encrusted in the rock,
Claws that grip, jealously guard,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side,
Try to break on through to the other side, yeah...

When life hands you rocks, you better be ready to rock them.
But when those rocks hold something precious, how do you hope to get at them?

O Captain! my Captain! I hear the cannonballs roar in the wind.
Upon the waves, the fires of battle rage - thirsting for blood.
War drums savage beat, triumphant bugles trumpet overhead,
Whistles ring to claim victory. But one question remains - for whom doth the bells toll?

When I'm lost adrift, floating in confusion,
When I haven't a clue what it is I should do,
I'm ever so glad you come to bring me comfort,
You always bring your eternal sunshine with you.

The thick haze that fogs my mind,
The menacing tempest that turns me on my side,
The overwhelming hurricane that challenges my stride,
Instantly dissipates - you bring crystalline clarity in scope of my sights.

Knowledge from you knows no equal,
You level the world beneath your feet,
What good is it to profit from ill-gotten gains?
What good is knowledge if trifly used in vain?

Who is greater than you, teacher?
You're the strength coursing through my legs.
You renew what was broken.
Thank you. Thank you for all you have to say.

When I'm hopelessly stuck, anchored in muck,
When I haven't a clue what it is I could do,
I'm ever so glad you come to bring me help,
You always bring your pleasant tidings with you.

The slick grime that dirties my thoughts,
The oiled, muddied surface that revolts my senses,
The pressure of stagnation that drags my hopes inert.
Instantly dissipates - you bring a powerful shower to cleanse my lights.

Understanding your ways is not easy.
You ask that I question the world I live in,
What good can come from a false understanding of nature?
What good can come from fire in the hands of the ignorant?

Who is greater than you, teacher?
You're the strength uplifting my arms.
You renew what was broken.
Thank you. Thank you for your most sincere alms.

When I'm spent and weary, utterly demotivated to continue,
When I haven't a clue what it is I would do,
I'm ever so glad you come to bring me joy,
You always bring your spark of inspiration with you.

The suffocating gag that shuts off my will,
The soot filled ashen air that darkens my resolve,
The towering walls of inferno engulfing my paradise,
Instantly dissipates - you bring rocket gusto to take me to new heights.

Wisdom gained is a gift of grace,
You give generously to this lowly student of faith,
What good is to be had if not aligned with the good?
What good can be given if not given by the good?

Who is greater than you, teacher?
You're the strength beneath my wings.
You renew what was broken.
Thank you. Thank you for being with me.
